Hiningers Launch Conservative Group – Believe in Tennessee
Former CoreCivic CEO says “We never shy away from a good fight”
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Believe in Tennessee is a conservative non-profit organization focused on keeping Tennessee the best place to raise a family and grow a business. The Co-Founders, Damon and Carrie Hininger, have launched the group to support conservative principles and public policy leaders across the Volunteer State.
“We believe Tennessee is America at its best. The values that make us so proud to be an American are rooted here – grit, optimism, belief, and service. We have an unwavering persistence in the pursuit of greatness, and we know, as Tennesseans, that we never shy away from a good fight. We volunteer for it. So, let’s do the work,” said Damon and Carrie Hininger.
Damon spent 33 years at CoreCivic – where he rose from entry-level correctional officer working the midnight shift at a maximum-security prison to CEO. Being a part of the public safety community only reinforced his belief that strong leadership and law and order policies matter. That's why President Donald J. Trump was elected in 2024. The President was made for this moment – our country needed him to secure America.

And I know this: the fight for our future, for my kids and yours, is real. Carrie and I’ve been attacked by the radical left – Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, and Hillary Clinton. Bank of America threatened our company and canceled our accounts for working with ICE. But we didn’t back down then, and we won’t back down. The mission is too important.”concluded Damon Hininger.
