Why CoreCivic's former CEO Damon Hininger is raising political cash and capital
Vice President JD Vance's motorcade drove through the gates at The Governor's Club in Brentwood and came to a stop at the residence of Nashville executive Damon Hininger.
Vance spent two hours at Hininger's home, along with 30 guests, including fellow businessman Lee Beaman. It was during Lent, so fish was the main item for the lunch. Money was on the menu, too: The Republican fundraiser, according to Hininger, banked $3 million. (Vance, who is widely expected to run for president, is finance chair of the Republican National Committee.)
